The F 850 GS employs a multiple-disk anti-hopping wet clutch that is mechanically operated. The constant-mesh 6-speed gearbox is integrated into the crankcase. The bike is also chain-driven. The fuel tank has a capacity of four gallons, while 0.9 gallons are used for reserve. These components give the bike 90 horsepower, 63 lb-ft of torque, and a top speed of 125 MPH.

The front brakes of the F 850 GS include dual-floating disc brakes with a 305mm diameter and dual-piston floating calipers. The rear brakes feature a 265mm single-disc brake with a single-piston floating caliper. An upside-down telescopic fork is used for the front suspension and has an impressive 8 inches of suspension travel. In the back, you’ll find a cast aluminum dual swingarm and a central spring strut. The rear suspension’s spring pre-load is hydraulically adjustable, and the rebound damping is also adjustable.
