The engine is a 1,802cc two-cylinder four-stroke boxer engine that is air/oil-cooled and employs two chain-driven camshafts above the crankshaft. Fuel is delivered by an electronic intake pipe fuel injection system with electronic engine management, overrun cut-off, and twin-spark ignition. The fuel tank has a capacity of approximately 4.2 gallons, of which 1 gallon is reserve fuel. In addition, the R 18 Classic features a six-speed single-disk dry clutch transmission. This setup provides riders with up to 91 horsepower, 116 lb-ft of torque, and a top speed of over 111 MPH.
