Ride Modes of the 2023 BMW S 1000 RR

All BMW S 1000 RR feature two distinct sets of riding modes for 2023: one for street and one for the track.  More standard safety and performance when accelerating is offered with the latest generation of Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) with 6-axis sensor cluster, lean angle sensor and fine adjustment. New on the DTC system is Slide Control. The Slide Control uses a steering angle sensor. Based on its signal, together with the wheel speeds and the sensor box signals, the slip angle at the rear wheel is estimated. Slide Control compares the current slip angle and comes up with a set value dependent on the DTC setpoint. If it looks as if this setpoint is going to be exceeded, Slide Control initiates a reduction of the drive slip. The DTC has four fixed basic settings for the different riding modes "Rain", "Road", "Dynamic" and "Race". There is also a  “Pro Modes” option, which includes for the first time ever an adjustable DTC Wheelie function. This function allows wheelies to be suppressed or limited with the aim of achieving maximum acceleration via front wheel lift-off detection. The four standard modes and three upgrade modes include:
  • Rain
  • Road
  • Dynamic
  • Race
  • Optional Race Pro 1
  • Optional Race Pro 2
  • Optional Race Pro 3
